Short Term Health Insurance
It is always believed that the tenure and the amount of premium required for a health insurance plan are inversely proportional because more the number of term periods less is the premium amount. This however led to the misconception that short term health insurance plans are not that beneficial because of the long tenure.
A short term insurance plan as the name suggest is generally for a tenure of 6 months and is usually taken by those who are left uncovered for a short period of time under several circumstances like in case of a divorce, change in college, shifting of a job or any such situations which requires coverage only for a short duration of time.
A perfect example for a short insurance coverage is during the shifting of jobs whereby you can still enjoy the benefits of your former company till its tenure is due but the new company that recruits you requires a certain initial period before offering a group health insurance benefits.
A student who has just that is attained 18years of age ceases to be covered under the plans of his guardian. Though he is eligible to generate an individual health insurance quote and take a health insurance plan, but that is only after its decided which university he would be going to because a lot of universities have comprehensible health insurance plans for its students. Moreover, his state of residence will also determine which insurance provider is likely to provide him with the cheapest health insurance quote.
