One of the many aggressive and destructive forms of cancer is neuroendocrine carcinoma of colon. The worst thing about this is that it is usually detected late into the advanced stages where is it very difficult to curb it and treat it.

As the symptoms of neuroendocrine colon cancer take form only in the most advanced stages the rate of survival drops at an alarming rate. Existing tumors are malignant and are usually detected with distant metastases. Surveys show reports reveal that in almost all cases of neuroendocrine cancer ends in death.

Although the possibilities of neuroendocrine carcinoma in colon are extremely unlikely, if one has the misfortune to become affected the patient’s heath becomes much worse than patients who suffer from adenocarcinoma.

Research shows that the final results surrounding this form of cancer stay the same with age, sex or tumor location. However, neuroendocrine colon carcinoma depends on which stage the tumor is in Normal trends reveal that most peopleshow that generally people in stage 1 and 2 of cancer do not suffer from neuroendocrine colon cancer. But alternately in many cases when the tumor is in stage 3 or 4, it is a laborious and hard task the neuroendocrine colon carcinoma.

Unfortunately, medical science has few techniques to help patients with this cancer. Among the more popular methods that doctors might use is immunohistochemical staining methods. This method helps doctors in dealing with the severity of the neuroendocrine colon cancer and really helps determine the best medication and a way to treat it. Immunohistochemical staining methods is specifically used for neuroendocrine markers. It involves the staining of said tumor with an antibody called A-80 which helps to identify the quantum of neuroendocrine differentiation and the amount of damage caused to the health.

Neuroendocrine colon carcinoma is hard to treat and in a case study in which a number of patients suffered from colon carcinoma underwent examination and, an observation was made that a general rate of survival surrounding this disease was approximately seven months. In a predominant stage these rates drop to less than five months Most of these cases were originally seen as carcinoids but they later developed in to neuroendocrine colon carcinoma. Neuroendocrine colon cancer has a poor prognosis and surgery is not always a guaranteed treatment so, even surgery does not even cure the patient. So this makes it important to detect this disease on time and administer the proper treatment.

The cure for cancer is still some way off, but it is something that science expects say can possibly happen within the next few decades. This disease causes suffering everywhere it is found. Research over the years has helped our understanding of cancer but not to the point where we are able to foretell exactly when it will happen.

There are theories that we all have it and it just takes something to start it off, but what is cancer? They cross over to other cells and sites of the body continuing to grow and divide.

The difference between a cancerous tumor an a benign one is that malignant tumors continue to grow whereas benign ones limit their growth an many of us live comfortably with them during out lives without even knowing. As you get older the risk of cancer increases. While smoking, chemicals and radiation for instance, can be the cancer trigger, it is the poison from these or other sources that transform body cells and create genetic abnormalities which grow and multiply.

For some people the problem lies not with any form of external poison although faults with their parents DNA or genetic makeup can result in a person being born with the diseased cells. It is still not fully understood why one person will contract the disease and another be free from it but it is believed that the interactions between any carcinogens and each person’s particular DNA is complicated.

Research into the cause of cancer continues around the globe and is the disease most frequently studied on a regular basis. More information is being gathered about all illnesses and why some people are more prone to certain conditions. We all want to know more about the causes of cancer what we can do to help prevent this illness from striking.

It is now believed by many that the food we eat could be responsible for many cases. A high calcium intake could possibly be responsible for cases of prostrate cancer in men.

No-one is immune from cancer. It can affect anyone at some time in a person’s life. The number of different types of cancer that can be treated has increased dramatically in recent years with so much intensive research being carried out. All this research is gradually leading towards more effective treatments for cancer and it is not always the terminal disease it used to be.

Unfortunately, cancer is a fact of life in our world. People die from it every day and there are more kinds than one would like to think about. It seems every time you turn on the news, you hear another item or habit causes this dreadful disease. But what is it really? Why are there so many variations and what is the cause of it?

Under normal circumstances, the human body reproduces cells at a regular rate. Sometimes through outside forces, the DNA of some cells get damage and do not die off like they are supposed to. These reproduce at an unchecked pace and the growth spreads through the body. This is the basic explanation of cancer. Its’ typically treated through radiation, chemotherapy, or by removing the infected tissues.

As the unchecked cells continue to grow at an accelerated rate, they can form benign tumors if they grow in a localized place. These tumors are not necessarily dangerous and will not harm you unless they grow out of control and in size. The basic treatment of benign cancers is just leaving it alone, or cut them out if it’s cosmetic.

A malignant tumor is what we generally think of when we hear cancer. Malignant tumors continue to grow and spread throughout the body. Infections and illness will spread throughout your blood stream.

Treatments for malignant cancer are removing the tissue, radiation, and chemotherapy. The latter two are effective against inoperable tumors such as brain and bone marrow. Researches into new treatments are coming along every year.

Every year thousands of people donate millions of dollars to cancer research. Unfortunately, there still is real cure. The only hope is that the cancer will go into remission and the patient can live a full life. Cancer that’s in remission has great odds coming back to haunt the patient. There are some cervical cancer vaccines on the market currently. Let’s hope that more can come out. The only preventative measure is to change high risk behavior.

Nowadays, there are hundreds of websites, such as CancerAnswers.info, providing support and information for researchers, survivors, and those concerned with the deadly disease.

Breast Cancer occurs when some cells in your breast grow out of control. It’s in the top 3 of cancers for women and is one of the leading causes of female mortality in early middle age, although survival rates are increasing every year.

All the publicity and campaigns have raised the profile of breast cancer and women are very aware of the risks. Survival rates improve every year and the earlier the cancer is found higher the cure rate. Men get breast cancer as well but it is 100 times less common.

Breast Cancer Incidence

Breast cancer rates have increased by more than 50% over the last twenty years. The highest rates of breast cancer occur in Northern Europe and North America and the lowest rates are in parts of Africa and Asia. The good news is thanks to better diagnosis and treatment survival rates are improving.

Death rates have been dropping steadily since 1990 and one of the keys to this is early diagnosis. Indeed medical experts attribute the decline in breast cancer deaths to both this and more effective treatments.

Breast Cancer Treatment

The treatment you will get depends on the type of cancer and if it has gone out of your breast elsewhere in your body. How far, if at all, the cancer has spread is called staging. Stage 0 means the cancer is just in the breast and stage 4 means it is spread through your body. What combination of treatment you receive depends on the stage and is the same for males and females.

Treatment options for breast cancer include surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, hormone treatment and biological therapy with drugs such as Herceptin. Treatment takes place in two forms, which are local and systemic.

Local treatments are surgery and radiotherapy purely round the breast. Systemic treatments affect the whole body. So chemotherapy, hormone and biological therapy are systemic treatments. Treatment for breast cancer is not a smooth road, and there are days when the cure feels worse than the disease.

Surviving Breast Cancer

More women conquer and beat cancer each year. With earlier diagnosis and smaller spread of cancer survival rates are high. Individuals are all different however and there are lots of examples of women with more advanced cancer beating it and living long lives. Males and females have broadly the same chances of beating the disease.

The number of cases worldwide of breast cancer is rising and it affects all strata of society. Being told you have breast cancer is stunning but the sooner it is found and treatment begun the better the chance of cure.

A diagnosis of breast cancer is not a death sentence but a huge challenge, which can be beaten. As many breast cancers have a genetic link other family members may receive counselling if needed.

I bet you didnt know that cancer cells feed on sugar in order for them to survive. This fact was part of the discovery of Dr. Otto Warburg about cancers biochemical cause way back in the 1930s. He pointed out several things that differentiate normal cells and cancer cells. Normal cells constantly need oxygen from blood circulation whereas cancer cells do not. It has been noted that any part of your body that do not contain any oxygen have cancer cells dwelling in it.

Both normal cells and cancer cells metabolize differently. If normal healthy cells metabolize using oxygen, cancer cells metabolize without the presence of oxygen because it uses the process of fermentation, a procedure similar to making wine which needs absolute oxygen-free environment. The findings also show that cancer cells metabolism is faster than normal healthy cells.

As mentioned, cancer cells use fermentation during their metabolism. During this process, the cancer cells need sugar in order for metabolism to take place. They will use the sugars stored in your body to facilitate the said process. Sugar helps cancer cells grow in number as well as strengthens them. Normal healthy cells also consume sugar in order for them to grow. But for this matter, we have to determine the difference between cancer and normal cells sugar intake.

Not all kinds of sugar feed cancer cells. There are good sugars and bad sugars. Bad sugars, otherwise known as simple sugars, are the main favorite food of cancer cells. These are said to be sugars with no nutritional benefit which you can find in sodas, sweet treats, sugary cereals, processed juice drinks, and other refined grains.

Good sugars, otherwise known as complex carbohydrates, are rich in nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, protein, and fiber. Fruits, vegetables, beans, and whole grains belong to the good sugars category. The sugars extracted from these food groups are utilized by normal healthy cells in their metabolism.

When you are fond of eating unhealthy foods filled with bad sugars and you have been diagnosed with cancer, start restructuring your food plan. Instead of drinking processed orange juice, why dont you substitute it with the real fruit orange? Flavored yogurts are also one of the rich sources of bad sugars. You can substitute it with plain yogurt filled with fresh fruits instead.

If you simply follow the simple plan of eradicating bad sugars from your overall diet, eventually the cancer cells die out because of starvation and their inability to metabolize and reproduce.

A malignant and rapid growing cancer, angiosarcoma is also highly invasive. The endothelial cells that line the walls of the blood and lymphatic vessels are the location from which the tumors arise.

All blood vessels and lymphatics are lined by endothelial cells; the layer being called the endothelium. The tumor begins as a growth of rapidly proliferating immature cells, but can quickly become cancerous and spread to many other systems.

Like most forms of cancer, angiosarcoma is uncontrolled cell replication, but its relation to the circulatory system poses unique threats to the health of any individual.

Hemangiosarcoma, or blood -fed sarcoma, occurs when the blood vessels grow directly into the tumor filling it with blood. Cancerous cells can spread cancer to other healthy systems of the body when the malignancy affects the blood. This makes it extremely dangerous. Because of its affect on the blood vessels, angiosarcoma is aggressive, hard to treat and frequently recurs.

Lymphangiosarcoma is a tumor cell that begins in the endothelium layer of the lymphatic vessels. The lymph systems job is to distribute antibodies to the body. Any time the process is disrupted by these cancer cells it can spreads these deadly cells throughout the body.

Angiosarcomas may occur in any organ of the body, but are more frequently found in skin and soft tissue. They can originate in the liver, breast, spleen, bone or heart.

Cutaneous angiosarcoma, the most common form of angiosarcoma, is most often found in elderly persons. The tumors are primarily located on the head and neck.

There is no known cause of angiosarcomas. Researchers have been able to identify risk factors that may lead to a higher chance of developing the tumors.

However, hemangiosarcoma is known to be linked to exposure of toxins such as, thorium dioxide, vinyl chloride, or arsenic. Stewart ” Theves symptom is an example of this. Lymphedema occurs after exposure to breast care treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation. It is a hemangiosarcoma

People who have received treatments like radiation and chemotherapy have a higher risk of angiosarcoma. Exposure to vinyl chloride used in polymerization in the plastic industry can lead to angiosarcomas of liver and soft tissue. Though exposure to these pre-conditions or environmental toxins may have occurred thirty years ago, people can still develop these cancerous tumors.

All these types of angiosarcomas are highly aggressive and destroy the body. Prognosis is usually poor and mortality rate high because of the high rate of local recurrence and because they are often misdiagnosed. Vascular malignant tumors do not respond well to chemotherapy and radiation which makes them very difficult to treat.

Research, around the world, is being done on P53, a tumor suppressor gene and its surrounding molecules. The research continues to be done in hope that one day new treatments may be found for this life threatening cancer.

Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer that is diagnosed every year. It is also one cancer that is easily detectable if you pay attention to your skin and perform a self examination regularly. In addition to skin cancer detection you should do everything you can to prevent skin cancer from ever starting.

You should perform a self check on your skin at least once a month. In addition your doctor should be examining your skin during your routine examination and checking out anything that you have seen and have a question on. Performing your own skin cancer detection check is a relatively quick and painless procedure that you can do easily.

Conduct your self-examination in a room with good lighting and a full-length mirror. If you cannot see some of your skin during your examination, then use a hand-held mirror to see those tricky places. You should be familiar with any unique features of your skin during your first self-examination. If you notice that your skin has blemishes or discolorations, it is important to keep an eye on them to watch for change in growth or color for future exams. Check all over and see if there are any spots that you did not see before.

Begin with your face and work your way down methodically and systematically. You may need some help for those areas that are hard to see. If you have a spouse or very close friend they can check your lower back and top of the thigh area for you. If there is no one to help you can use a handheld mirror to see those areas.

When concerned about the possibility of skin cancer examine carefully the areas that are often exposed to the sun. Look for changes in the character of any abnormality such as the shape or size of a mole or discoloration. Medical drawings and photos are available to guide you in the different types of skin cancers.

Early detection is the key to successfully treating skin cancer. By making sure you are familiar with the regular appearance of your skin, you can take note of the appearance of any moles or other features of your skin. If you notice anything suspicious, show it to your doctor immediately. It might be harmless, but the only way to be certain is to have your doctor check it.

You will need to be more careful about your skin if it is very fair. Cover it at all times when you go outside, and wear sunscreen on any skin that is exposed. Deflect the sun’s harmful rays on your face with hats. Early skin cancer detection and a solid prevention regime will help you defend against skin cancer.
